The well-known architectural gem in the 3rd District of Vienna was originally built in 1828 as a steam bath / Turkish bath. In the 1990s, the Sofiensäle experienced its time of prosperity until 2001 - when it was burnt down to ashes. After the revitalization of Sofiensäle, Joachim Bankel and Lukas Grünbichler run the Sofiensäle and the restaurant, including a Bar called THE ROOM through their company founded in 2013 (SOFIENSÄLE GASTRONOMIE & EVENT GmbH).
